Country Club Plaza Shopping Trip

Don't play golf?  Not into roller coasters?   Well, just maybe you would enjoy a trip with some of your cousins for some shopping and lunch at one of Kansas City's true treasures The Country Club Plaza.  Don't feel like you have to spend any mullah.  The Plaza is worth seeing and experiencing just for the art and the window shopping

Peggy Quinn Leinen, Laurie Quinn and Marsha Quinn will be your host tour guides for this fun day.  They said to be sure you wear comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of walking involved.

The Plaza's popularity and reputation has been recognized around the country.  The entire 15-block district, with more than 150 shops and dozens of fine restaurants, makes The Country Club Plaza Kansas City's premier shopping, dining and entertainment destination.

Shoppers will recognize fine stores like Anthropologie and Tiffany & Co.  Original Kansas City stores like Halls and Tivol give flavor to the Plaza's reputation as a national fashion center.  Pleasant surprises can be found along each block -from tiny shoe boutiques to delicious chocolatiers, couture clothiers, stylish salons and fine jewelry.

Contemporary American to Kansas City steaks, authentic Italian to cosmopolitan Mexican are all a part of the Plaza experience.  Whether it's the hot spot that caters to the late crowd or a quiet courtyard cafe, the Plaza restaurants offer an atmosphere that no other district can duplicate.

With its rich history, fine dining, superb shopping and entertaining activities throughout the year, it is understandable that The Country Club Plaza is one of the Midwest's premier destinations.
The Plaza is an outdoor museum of romantic Spanish architecture and European art where people actually live and work every day amid its beauty.  It was designed in 1922 as the nation's first suburban shopping district.  Since then, its open-air public art gallery has continuously added to its collection, with fountains, sculptures and murals that bring to the heart of our city the very best of the Old World and the New.

Those who have traveled overseas might do a double take when they stroll past the statue of Sir Winston Churchill.  Just steps away two of Spain's landmarks--the Giralda Tower and the Seville Light--tower majestically on the horizon.  Down the street in a quiet courtyard sits an original bronze of Pomona by Italian sculptor Donatello Gabrielli.  Is this England, or maybe Spain, or could it be Italy?  What a surprise to the traveler to find these magnificent European works of art in the heart of the Midwest--on Kansas City's famed Country Club Plaza.

We will need a head count to arrange transportation and lunch seating for our group.  Please email Pat Quinn with names of Plaza Shoppers and sightseers
